When the Earth Speaks: A conversation on health equity and environmental justice

March 6, 2025

Our panelists will discuss the impacts of environmental inequities on the health of Black, Indigenous and racialized communities in Canada. Together, we will explore:

• Defining Environmental Justice in the Canadian context

• Discussing the short and long term consequences of not adapting to sustainable practices in healthcare and academia

• Highlighting the benefits from an equity perspective achieved by early sustainability adapters in healthcare and academia

Scarborough Health Network, Centennial College, and  The Black Health Equity Lab at University of Toronto  Scarborough are proud to come together to invite you to an inspiring virtual event focusing on Health Equity and Environmental Justice on March 19, 2025. We are delighted to welcome our esteemed panelists: Larissa Crawford, Founder of Future Ancestors; Dr. Ingrid Waldron,  Professor and HOPE Chair in Peace and Health, Global Peace and Social Justice Program, McMaster University; and as moderator, Dr. Délon Omrow, Associate Dean, Centennial College.
