Demilade Akinleye-Abraham is a Biology student at the University of Toronto. With experience in community health research from the O’Brien Institute for Public Health, Demilade focuses on advancing racial equity and health outcomes for Black and racialized communities in Canada. Beyond research, Demilade is actively involved in student leadership and community initiatives, serving as co-president of UTM’s Black Student Association (2025/2026), he is the outreach coordinator with Black in STEM, and acts as a mentor through youth programs. Demilade is also involved on campus as a Program Facilitator for the Life Sciences community in Student Housing Residence Life. Outside of academics, some of Demilade’s hobbies include vinyl collecting, fitness, sprint training and concert going.
