Jemima Munyaruganda

Jemima Munyaruganda is a Master of Public Health candidate in Epidemiology at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. She earned her Honours Bachelor of Science in Health Studies and Psychology at the University of Toronto. She is currently a Clinical Research Assistant at Mount Sinai Hospital, supporting research to improve cardiovascular and neurological outcomes in preterm infants. Jemima has previously worked as a Research Assistant on various research projects exploring culturally responsive models of care for Black seniors as well as examining Black seniors’ experiences accessing long-term care in Ontario. She also served as an ACB Health Peer Equity Navigator with the Black Health Equity Lab, engaging in HIV prevention and health education in African, Caribbean, and Black communities. She volunteers at Women’s College Hospital and is passionate about advancing maternal and child health. Her work focuses on addressing the social determinants of health and advancing health equity by shaping evidence-based policies and promoting culturally competent care that meets the needs of diverse communities. Outside of work, Jemima enjoys reading, exploring new cuisines, and spending time with friends and family.
